Holabird & Root in association with Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber; designed a new 28,500 sq. ft theater facility on the campus of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The lobby, with its large windows, encourages people to experience the surrounding environment and accommodates pre-performance receptions, audience circulation, the concession stand, box office, and public restrooms.
A 180-seat black box theater includes flexible staging and separate access for actors and duplicates the main stage size to double as a rehearsal hall. Space for storage of costumes, props and scenery are all tucked under the seating at a lower level.
