Holabird & Root collaborated with Drake University to create a master plan for the University’s science complex. The reorganization of the science departments allows for the renovation of all existing spaces within the existing buildings, as well as the realization of new additions to the science complex. It also proposes a new link addition between Olin and Fitch, which will house a vivarium, as well as all new teaching labs and various informal gathering spaces. The teaching labs will include spaces for chemistry, pharmacy, psychology, and biology. A new addition to the south of Olin Hall will house the relocated physics spaces and the math and computer science department, along with several shared classrooms. The master plan will also consolidate the pharmacy department, which is currently spread throughout all of the buildings.
