Holabird & Root completed the Higher Learning Commission’s new Chicago office.  The design emphasizes openness and transparency.

Staff wellness was important to the HLC, so the designers sought opportunities to bring in natural light. All of the offices have glass fronts and are located on the interior, while the workstations are located by the exterior windows. Corridors lead to exterior views.

Collaborative space is interspersed throughout the office to encourage spontaneous group interaction.

The conference room was designed with flexibility in mind so that it can become a larger or smaller space depending on the needs of the group.
